I'll tell you about some of the exciting experiences I had working in Canada on the set of Bionic Woman.
It's such an honour to be part of the Bionic Woman. I fell in love with the script the first time I read it. It's different from the other television shows and the script was just a bit darker than what I had ever done before. This remake is much different from the original 70s show. One of the biggest differences is my character Becca. Jaime didn't have a younger sister in the original.
My life is so different from Becca who plays Jaime's sister. Becca is a teenage girl raised by her older sister Jaime. Her mom died and her dad is out of the picture. Becca has her moments of rebellion, but underneath it all she is a girl who just wants to be loved or to be shown that she is loved. I think that many teenagers will identify with what Becca goes through in each episode. Becca is also a funny girl who can find humour in many situations. The pilot episode definitely shows that side of Becca.
I approached the part of Becca by relating to someone or something in my life. I really focused on the situation with Becca being raised by her sister. As a teenager Becca is going through the hardest years of her life without a mother or a father and she's being raised by Jaime who isn't that much older. I imagined how I would feel in that situation and that's how I get through some of the more intense scenes between Becca and Jaime.
It's really exciting working with the cast and crew of the Bionic Woman. Michelle Ryan who plays Jaime on the show is a true pro, but I got to know her silly side as well. Miguel Ferrer who plays Jonas Bledsoe (Jaime's boss) is a very down-to-earth man. Everyone on the show is older and more experienced, so I learned a lot from watching them. Acting in television is more hectic because you're always on a time crunch, but I learned to stay focused no matter how many things are being thrown at you, and I'm not afraid to ask questions.
I hope you guys are watching the show. Each episode sheds more light into Becca's character. Post your comments and questions on my Message Center. I'd love to hear from you.
These photos are from episodes of the Bionic Woman. I especially like the ones with me, and Michelle Ryan. I really love working with her. There are also a couple of shots with my laptop on the show as well. Can you guess which episode the photos are from? I'll be posting more pictures so keep coming back to the site. Let me know which one you like best.
